Error Code 1

Generally, there are four conditions, which can cause an error1.

  1. The system is below 45 F (7 C).
  2. The motor has malfunctioned and burned out another component
  3. The system experienced a rise in temperature greater than expected.
  1. Was the system stored in a sub 45F (7.2C) degree environment for any length of time?

    Yes- Reset the Behmor by unplugging it, then plugging it back in after it has been allowed
    to warm up to above 60 F.

    Is the roaster now working properly?
    Yes – Good. The system has built in safety protections and must be stored in environments with temperatures above 45F. This does not affect the roaster’s ability to be used in sub 45F environments and is strictly a storage issue.
    No – Please continue with 2)

    No – Please continue with 2)

  2. Did an err6 message appear before the error 1.

    Yes – The motor and another component are no longer working. Please contact Behmor Inc
    (put in a link for contact) about obtaining replacement parts or service
    No – Does the motor turn at all when you start a roast.

    Yes – Continue with 3)
    No – The motor and another component are no longer working. Please contact Behmor Inc
    (put in a link) about obtaining replacement parts or service

  3. Did the error message appear after a roast that exceeded the recommended time of 10 seconds into 2nd crack?

    Yes – The system will require a cleaning. Please go to “Cleaning your Behmor” for the appropriate procedure.
    No – Did the error message occur after an excessively smoky roast

    Yes – Please go to “Cleaning your Behmor” and follow the instructions.
    No – Did the error message occur after a fire of any type?

  4. You may have a loose sensor wire, or a sensor wire may need replacement.

    To check, remove the right-side panel as facing the roaster. There are six screws, three on the top of the panel and three on the bottom. Use a Phillips screw driver. Next refer to the file PCB Wire Color Code. Check connections 1,3 and 4. Do not just check visually, make sure the connections are complete to the circuit board.

    On connections 1 and 4, make sure that the two wires that go into the male plastic head that
    fits into the circuit board are not loose within the head. Press them down into the head.
    If you receive an ERROR 1 message, press the OFF button and try again.
    If not successful, sensor wire connection number 4 may need replacement.

    Yes – Please go to “Cleaning your Behmor” and follow the instructions.

    No – Unplug your Behmor to reset it. Plug it back in and attempt a dry burn.

    Is the Behmor now working?
    Yes – it works now. Good. We recommend following the instructions in “Cleaning your Behmor”
    No – Please complete our Customer Support form and we will personally, address your issue.
