Constricted temperature Range (will only set within a few degrees difference):
First thing is to check if the altitude is set high in calibration. If you live at high elevation, always remember there is a 1F loss per 500 ft in altitude. If it’s set to the few thousands, the range starts to really get restricted because water boils at lower temperatures.
Example: At 4500, you lose approximately 9 degrees (1F per 500 ft) to reach boil at 203. We only allow within 1 of max thus 202. Can’t do any more than that.
If you don’t live at a high elevation, it may have been previously set too high, and you should perform a factory reset on the brewer by holding the up and down arrows at the same time until it beeps. This may take up to a minute. Then recalibrate and reset to your proper elevation.
